Claudia Fraijo
Chief Volunteer Coordinator
We couldn’t keep our volunteers organized without Claudia’s attention to detail. She’s the “glue” that holds us together, and always ensures that we have our “ducks in a row”. Did we mention her cooking skills? She’s a master creator of delectable dishes!

John Keefer
Informational Technology and
Audio Support
When we needed someone to manage our webpage and other technical needs, John stepped in to reverse engineer and optimize our efficiency. He also makes an amazing cheesecake!

Eileen Julian
Social Media and Marketing Coordinator
When you need the word out to our “What’s Happening,” Eileen is the tenacious energizer bunny. She’s ever present at all our events and will provide the latest updates before you even get the chance to know something is amiss!

Workshop Coordinator
Always willing to step in and provide a helping hand, Genevieve hit a home run with our summer workshop coordination. Did we mention she knows how to swing and tango?

Rulon Jenson
Volunteer Practice Dance Instructor
One of our talented contracted instructors, Rulon is always there the lend a hand, especially with practice. His 20+ years of dance experience and patience with assisting new and seasoned veteran dancers with the basics as well as new techniques is a testament to his dedication.
Rulon’s voluntary contributions include:

– Hosting/Judging the annual Jack & Jill Competition

Nora Short
Volunteer Coordinator
Needing a partner to Waltz, Swing, or Country 2-Step, Nora is always there to help you out. Did we mention her appetizers? Just an amazing confectioner and a wonderful dancer.

Volunteer Opportunities
We are always looking to include volunteers to support our club activities. Perhaps you have a special skill that you want to share. Here are the list of volunteer opportunities along with a brief description of what is involved. If you’re interested in volunteer, please complete the Volunteer Signup Form
Volunteer Coordinator – helps organize all aspects of volunteering, from recruiting new volunteers to promoting opportunities for people who want more hours in their schedule to support club activities.
Hosting Practice – Selects music from our playlists appropriate for those attending practice.
Board Member – Board members of the Ballroom Dance Club of Fairbanks are a two year commitment, and they have the responsibility for ensuring the organization does it best work possible in pursuit of it’s goals.
Sponsor a Social Dance – Sponsoring a dance is a fun and creative activity that really gives you a sense of being an important contributor to our club. It involves choosing a theme, or not— generic social dances are fine; organizing food and music; coordinating with the club for publicity; and recruiting people to open and close the dance hall.
Photography/Video – Taking videos or pictures during any of our events and sharing them on our Facebook, Instagram or website.
Greeter – Welcome dancers and newcomers warmly and makes them feel comfortable. Informs members, and guests of our upcoming club activities.
Setup/Cleanup – Helps organize the dance hall for dances, practices, lessons so we are prepared for the event. Returns the dance hall to the condition better than we received it.
Class/Workshop Registration – Assist student with signing in for class, having dancers check their shoes, getting the waiver form signed, as well as having each student get a name tag.
Fundraising and Sponsorship – Solicits donations and sponsors for our formal balls, dances, and workshops.
Graphic Designer – Designs dance artwork for our flyers, business cards, website and social media presence that support our brand.
